Re-Released Romance Novels

Janet Evanovich is an American writer who is most famous for the Stephanie Plum series of adventure-romance novels. These books combine elements from both genres to make thrilling tails of love and adventure entertaining to the reader. The Plum books appear on the New York Times best seller list frequently, even netting the top spot for books like Hot Six. While this series and the new Alex Barnaby series are what most people think of when they think Janet Evanovich, the author actually got started writing romance novels under the pseudonym Steffie Hall. Her first novel, Hero at Large, was picked up a couple years after she wrote it, for $2000. The book was published in 1987 under her aforementioned pen name. In 87' she began writing for Bantam Loveswept using her real name. During this time she really developed knack for creating interesting characters, attractive leading men, and genuinely funny humor, which is an integral part to her writing style. Her romance novels include Hero at Large in 1987, Foul Play in 1989, the Grand Finale in 1988, Thanksgiving in 1988, Ivan Takes a Wife in 1988 (also known as Love Overboard, republished in 2005),  Naughty Neighbor in 1992, and then the Elsie Hawkins Series, which included Back to the Bedroom in 1989, Smitten in 1990, Wire for Hire in 1990, and Rocky Road to Romance in 1991.

After finishing her twelfth novel she decided that she no longer wanted to write romance, and so she moved on to the adventure romance stories of Stephanie Plum. However, thanks to the Evanovich store online, Janet Evanovich novels are easier to find than ever, allowing you to ge back and read all of her earlier work. Getting Janet Evanovich books online is as simple as visiting her website and hitting up the store, so if you are interested in reading some works of hers from long ago than you should definitely check out the old romance novels. As stated above, Ivan Takes a Wife was re-released in 06 under a different name, and we may well see this happen more with other Evanovich titles. However, with a Stephanie Plum movie on the way and more books to be written about this character, I don't think you'll see any old fashioned romance novels from Janet any time soon. That said, here romance novels are still a great thing to read if you love the author and want to understand her style and development more, as the show that she has grown as a person as well as a writer, and is better at writing then she was back in 87. So check it out, it might just be a very interesting read for you.
