Co-authored Romance Novels
Janet Evanovich has been a figure in the romance and adventure genres of American writing for the last 20 years. She started way back in 1987 under the pen name Steffie Hall, and has grown into quite the novelist. Her original work was on Romance novels, releasing twelve of them. In 1994 she released the first book in the Stephanie Plum series, and this catapulted her into the New York Times Bestseller list with vigor. Stephanie Plum is a bounty hunter living in Trenton New Jersey, and shares many similarities with Evanovich herself, and as such it makes writing the character a very natural affair for Plum and this is part of why the books do so well on the charts an with critics. She has also began work on a new series based on a new character, Alex Barnaby. While the last book came out in 2006, she certainly has created a lot of memorable characters and stories. The Evanovich store lets you access Janet Evanovich novels easily, but also lets you look at her collaborations, such as the novel written by Janet Evanovich and Leanne Banks.
This novel, titled Hot Stuff, was released in 2007, it's a good collaboration, but it certainly isn't Janet's first. She has worked with author Charlotte Hughes as well, and this is seen in the Full series. The list of books include Full House (originally written as Steffie hall in 1989, but re-released in 2002 as an expanded copy), Full Tilt in 2003, Full Speed in 2003, Full Blast in 2004, Full Bloom in 2005, and Full Scoop in 2006. All of these books combine to make for a good series of collaborations, and that's something that not every author can do well. On top of all that, Evanovich was supposed to be working on a new set of books that are also co-written. This series was supposedly being co-written with Stephen J. Cannell, and was entitled No Chance. Cannell is most well known for his work in television and on his Shane Scully series of novels, which has run from 2001 to 2007, with more books on the way. No Chance was being worked on by both Cannell and Evanovich, and was set for an October 2007 release, and was to launch a completely new series for both writers. However, the series seems to have been canceled, but no one really knows it's status at the moment. All of these collaborations demonstrate Janet Evanovich's skill at writing both alone and with others, and it comes as no surprise that her considerable talents are just as evident in collaborations as when she writes alone. So give a look to her collaborated titles and see if there are any that grab your interest. |
